Currently there is much talk about the quality requirement of D-Cinema, the replacement of 35mm projected film with a digital projection equivalent.  The problem is ‘What are the technical specs of 35mm film in respect to digital specs?’  There is much talk, by people and companies with many vested interests.

D-Cinema will refer to the industry standardized specification for the replacement of 35mm film.  The specifications are close, but still not really agree upon.  Hence, no one really have a D-Cinema solution.

The term E-Cinema is to refer to everything that does not match or better the D-Cinema specification.
